Recently we were asked to cut two liners.
The liners are made from very resistant steel on which standard machining techniques practically can't be applied.
The liners have an internal diameter of 1000mm and a wall thickness of 35mm. We were asked to respect a tolerance of +/- 2mm.
D.E.C.O. NV has a cutting tool that was developed to internally cut piles with a diameter varying from 500 to 1800mm. The correct cutting table was mounted and the tool was placed internally on the desired length.
The piercing took 50 seconds after which the cutting of each liner was done in 45 minuts at a working pressure of 3000 bar (43511 psi).
